This IDC White Paper identifies the challenges that enterprises face when needing to automate processes that span multiple applications and systems. It follows on from a report published  in 2007 by IDC analyst Stephen Elliot  titled "IT Organizations Are Maturing from Job Scheduling to Workload Automation". In this Vendor Spotlight IDC expands on key considerations enterprises should assess when developing a workload automation strategy. IDC also identifies UC4 and UC4 Workload Automation Suite as a possible solution that clients might consider citing the benefits and challenges that they might wish to be aware of.
